Roth/LaMotte's design philosophy builds upon the need to connect people with the landscape in their daily lives. We strive to integrate the land with the unique combination of the client's programmatic needs, budget and the ecology of the place, whether it is an ornamental garden, a trailhead, or a featured area in a National Park.

We are always looking to help establish symbiotic relationships between the "natural" and the "human" in order to strengthen the client's connection to the natural world.

Our public work explores the relationship of a site to its current users, its historic past and the protection of special status species. We extend elements of this to our residential and commercial work, while respecting and celebrating the need to create a sense of place that fits the needs of creating a home or a space for gathering, dining, strolling and celebrating life.
